This week, Canada is recognizing National AccessAbility Week, a national effort to celebrate accessibility, inclusion, and the leadership of people with disabilities. At AX4E, we believe that work matters far beyond one country.
The last few years have created plenty of division: politically, culturally, and even between neighbors who should have more in common than not. But accessibility is one of those places where we can still come together.
Because accessibility is not about sides. It is about people.
It is about making sure more of us can participate fully in school, work, business, government, healthcare, technology, community life, and the web. It is about asking a simple question:
Who is still being left out?
More than a regulation
Canada's National AccessAbility Week is a good reminder that accessibility is not just a regulation or a technical standard. It is a commitment to dignity, independence, and inclusion. And that is something worth supporting on both sides of the border.
As Americans, we can learn from Canada's efforts. As accessibility advocates, we can celebrate progress wherever it happens. And as neighbors, we can keep the door open to collaboration, respect, and shared responsibility.
Where AX4E stands
At AX4E, our mission is simple: help create a more accessible digital world for everyone. That includes businesses, nonprofits, schools, public agencies, and communities that want to do better - not just because they have to, but because it is the right thing to do.
So this week, we are recognizing Canada's National AccessAbility Week and standing with everyone working to remove barriers.
More access. More understanding. More open doors. That is something we can all get behind.
